This is a extremely bold and powerful statement honoring the Norse tradition of design and power totem elements represented by symbolic jewelry wear in the old cultures. It is also fairly heavy with good thickness and strength.

We may never know the precise symbolism of this Viking Horde find, which is actually a minature replica of an 8" diameter silver Arm Band residing in the Danish History Museum (I think). The design structure is classic Viking, and if I were to make an educated guess, this warrior ready arm band was likely viewed as "metaphysical armor" by the wearer. Jewelry was often worn as power and protection devices with talismanic overtones. The same is true for neck Torcs and other heavy jewelry work of the era, that also demonstrated a measure of social status.
